Ministries for Ages 18 and Under

  • Little Fishies (Newborn to Kindergarten)

    Little Fishies is a ministry for children from birth to 5 years old. Caregivers are welcome to join their children in making new friends and building lifelong relationships. Activities include: playtime, music, storytime, Orthodox Life lesson, activities, crafts, and more. Little Fishies gatherings are found on our parish calendar and our weekly parish email.   • Junior and Senior GOYA (Middle and High School Students)

    Junior and Senior GOYA (Greek Orthodox Youth Association) is an extension of our community’s broad youth and young adult ministry. Serving all teenagers 6th-12th grade, this ministry provides youth with opportunities to participate in worship, volunteerism, fellowship, and learning.   • Athletics (All Ages)

    St. Andrew’s Athletics include the Greek Orthodox Athletic League (GOAL) basketball program (October-February, annually) and the Chicago Metropolis Junior Olympics. These programs have activities for most ages of our youth, and are combined with St. George, Chicago.   • Parish Family Night (All ages, Children, Youth, and Adults)

    Parish Family Nights offer monthly opportunities for growth in faith, fellowship, and fun for the entire family. Over the course of an evening, St. Andrew’s Parish Family Nights include dinner, drinks (for adults), crafts, activities, and small group discussions for all. Parish Family Nights are intended for all members of the St Andrew community of all ages. This ministry breaks the group into discussion/activity groups based on age to encourage fellowship and engagement among the adults, teens, and children of our parish.   • Sunday School (Grades K-12)

    St. Andrew’s Sunday School teaches all aspects of Orthodox Christian life. Students learn about their faith through classroom lessons, music and outreach projects. Throughout the year, children participate in a variety of events, including the Christmas Pageant, St. John Chrysostom Oratorical & Fine Arts Festival, and more. Children proceed to their classroom immediately after Holy Communion.   • Altar Servers

    St. Andrew’s Altar Servers includes our Altar Boys and Myrrh-Bearing Women. Altar Boys assist in the Divine Liturgy and other worship services. Our Myrrh-Bearing Women assist in the services of Great & Holy Week, Beginning with Palm Sunday. While there is no minimum age requirement for either, please inquire with Fr. Kosmas or click the button below to make sure your child is ready to serve.
